About Zakynthos - which you might
also know as Zante.

Northern Zakynthos epitomises the charming and laid back style of Greek rural living, complete with a variety of unspoilt local tavernas and 'kafenions'.

And there's also a strongly religious and artistic side to the Zakynthians. The local churches and monasteries, complete with exquisite carvings and gold-embellished icons are well worth a visit.

Explore the local tavernas, all providing friendly service with food at affordable prices. As a rough guide prices in 2003 were between 15 and 25 Euro per head for a 2 course dinner including a generous flow of local wine.

Only a 5 - 10 minute drive from all the villas is the fabulous art cafe - Sophia's - a lively and welcoming bar with a unique atmosphere.sunset at keri

The 'season' on Zakynthos, in common with the rest of Greece, starts up on May 1 and ends October 31. Outside of this period there are no direct flights - but obviously you can still get to Zakynthos via Athens.

And the weather you can expect from May to October is wonderful. May, June, September and October are deliciously warm. July and August -simply wonderfully hot.
