About Zakynthos - which you might |
Northern Zakynthos epitomises the charming and laid back style of Greek rural living, complete with a variety of unspoilt local tavernas and 'kafenions'. And there's also a strongly religious and artistic side to the Zakynthians. The local churches and monasteries, complete with exquisite carvings and gold-embellished icons are well worth a visit. Explore the local tavernas, all providing friendly service with food at affordable prices. As a rough guide prices in 2003 were between 15 and 25 Euro per head for a 2 course dinner including a generous flow of local wine. Only a 5 - 10 minute drive from all the villas is the fabulous art cafe - Sophia's - a lively and welcoming bar with a unique atmosphere. And the weather you can expect from May to October is wonderful. May, June, September and October are deliciously warm. July and August -simply wonderfully hot.
