The Matterhorn

Surrounded by 38 of Europe's 76 four-thousand-metre peaks at the foot of the Matterhorn in the south of Switzerland, Zermatt is connected to the ski area of Cervinia in Italy via the Theodul (3,300m) and Testa Grigia (3,480m) passes.

Apartment Pauline, Zayetta 54, is on the 5th Floor of Haus Zayetta, and a three minute walk from the train station where the ski bus or a taxi (electric car or horse and carriage) can   be picked up.

The Zayetta has direct access to the celebrated 5 star Hotel Alex via the swimming pool complex.

Arrangements can be made to use these facilities, including sauna, gym, squash courts, and an indoor tennis court.   However, it is advisable to book for dinner if looking for a gastronomic adventure at the 'Alex Grill'.  There is also the Restaurant 'Le Jardin' for fondu or lighter refreshments and a wonderful bar area.
